Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Wiggles, now Wrecker

The puppy we knew as Wiggles had a challenging start, but he’s now living his best life. Wiggles and his littermates arrived in January at Tri-County Humane Society with ringworm, a fungus that can be challenging to treat in a shelter because of how easily it spreads. Luckily for them, a knowledgeable foster home stepped up to do the necessary in-home treatments for pups - an endeavor that lasted five weeks. These puppies’ story was featured in a Raise a Paw for Vet Care appeal we did – and we are so thankful to everyone who contributed!

Wiggles’ adopter is also very thankful! After he was medically cleared for adoption, Wiggles found his home in March. He’s now named Wrecker, and he’s an absolute delight for his human, who says he’s “been the biggest blessing to our home!” Wrecker’s favorite things include pig ears, swimming, and watching “SpongeBob SquarePants.”

“Wrecker has been nothing short of incredible – not only top-notch health, but also top-notch playing skills!”

These pictures say it all.
