Adoption Stories

We receive wonderful stories of TCHS alumni on a regular basis, and we want to offer our sincere thanks to all who take the time to share them with us. We are invested in each and every pet we care for, and we want the best for them!  This is why we do what we do. Why you give, volunteer, adopt, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same.

Share Your TCHS Adoption Story:  email your story with photos to pets@tricountyhumanesociety.org or message us on our Facebook page for future publication. We love to hear how our alumni are doing!

Bear

This adoptee is truly a lucky kitten; he has tiny human siblings willing to play with him until he’s worn out! Bear was born in late February and spent the first few months of his life in a TCHS foster home with his mom and siblings. (Thank you to all the TCHS fosters!) Bear was adopted in April and is doing “amazing.”

“He absolutely loves his human brothers and plays with them all the time! As soon as they come home, he's up and ready to play hard. He likes to sneak into spots he shouldn't be and spy on us (above the kitchen cabinets), sneak up on us when we are coming around the stairs so he can attack our ankles, and of course turn our cuddle sessions into playtime with attacks.”

One of Bear’s favorite games to play is fishing. "The boys have gone through so many cat fishing rods already, we converted a kids’ fishing rod into a cat toy.” The lures are cat toys!

And Bear’s popularity in the house carries over into the evening. “Every night it's an argument of who gets to sleep with Bear, but he makes the rules and usually winds up in our oldest son’s bed or finds someone else to snuggle with after his 3 a.m. playtime fun racing up and down the hallway.”

“He's our favorite little fur ball, and we are so happy to have him! My boys haven't giggled or been this happy in a long time.”
